Get daily chart data

Read-only
LatePoint Booking & Events latepoint/get-daily-chart-data

Retrieve a day-by-day breakdown of bookings or revenue for a chosen date range, ready to plot on a chart.

Requires the LatePoint plugin on WordPress 6.9+ (the WordPress Abilities API is only available from 6.9 onward). All abilities also require the site's 'latepoint_abilities_api' master toggle to be enabled; write abilities additionally require the 'latepoint_abilities_api_edit' setting, and destructive abilities additionally require the 'latepoint_abilities_api_delete' setting. Each ability further requires the current user to hold the matching LatePoint capability (e.g. 'booking__view', 'customer__edit'), and some abilities also verify the user is allowed to act on that specific record.

What it does

This ability returns a day-by-day time series for a specified date range, suitable for feeding directly into a chart. You choose the date_from and date_to bounds, plus an optional metric of either bookings (the default) or revenue, and the response returns one entry per day with the date and the corresponding value. Booking counts are pulled via LatePoint's total-bookings-per-day helper, while revenue figures are pulled via the same period-stat helper used elsewhere in the analytics abilities. Because the data arrives pre-aggregated per day, an AI assistant can immediately generate a trend chart or spot day-level spikes without querying raw booking records itself.

See it in action

You ask your AI assistant

"Show me a daily chart of bookings from June 1st to June 30th."

Inputs

Name Type Required Description

date_to string Yes Period end (Y-m-d).

An object with a 'days' array, one entry per date in the range, each entry containing the date and a numeric value — either the booking count or the revenue for that day depending on the requested metric.

Permission

The current user must have LatePoint's 'booking__view' capability, and the site's 'latepoint_abilities_api' Abilities API setting must be enabled.
