Get top keywords

Read-only
Rank Math SEO SEO rank-math/get-top-keywords

Retrieve the top-performing keywords by clicks from Google Search Console, with impressions, CTR, and average position.

Requires the Rank Math SEO plugin on WordPress 6.9+ for the Abilities API. AI Visibility abilities require the 'manage_options' capability; Link Genius abilities require 'rank_math_link_builder'; Post SEO abilities require 'rank_math_onpage_general'; Schema abilities require 'rank_math_onpage_snippet'; SEO Analysis abilities require 'rank_math_site_analysis'; Analytics abilities require 'rank_math_analytics'; Content Analysis abilities require 'rank_math_onpage_analysis'. Some outputs (broken-link audit data in get-link-report, extra schema types in get-post-schema) are only populated when Rank Math PRO is active.

What it does

This ability returns Rank Math's Search Console keyword report: the top keywords ranked by clicks over a chosen date range (last_7_days, last_30_days, last_3_months, last_6_months, or last_12_months, defaulting to last_30_days), each with its clicks, impressions, click-through rate, and average position. An optional limit (1-100, default 25) caps how many keywords are returned. On Rank Math PRO, each keyword can additionally include a position trend versus the previous period, whether it's tracked in the PRO Rank Tracker, and the specific pages on the site that rank for it. The response also reports whether Google Search Console is connected, so an AI assistant can tell a disconnected state apart from a genuinely empty result. Requires the 'rank_math_analytics' capability.
